Top 25 Songs of 2007
By Stacey Yount - BollySpice.com
5 Jan 2008

The year 2007 was musically rich for individual songs, especially the latter part. Music lovers that we are, we probably could have had a list of 50 songs; but that might be overdoing it just a bit. So here are our picks for the Top 25 Songs of 2007!

25 'Move Your Body' (Johnny Gaddaar) Music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy Performed By Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani, Loy Mendonca
While listening to this song you picture a crowded dance floor with lights swinging around the club and everyone grooving to the music. A mixture of many different styles including a bollywood beat, rock, and rap, this song, as the title suggests, makes you want to move your body.

24 'Viraaniya' (Namastey London) Music by Himesh Reshammiya Performed By Himesh Reshammiya
The first on our list from the hugely popular Himesh Reshammiya, the entrancing beat is enhanced by the mark of Himesh's distinctive voice. While listening to it you can literally feel the sadness. This song hooks you.

23 'Saajna Ki Vari Vari' (Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd) Music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy Performed By Sunidhi Chauhan, Shekhar Ravjiani
A very fast paced number that did well on the charts. The song has great beat that gets your feet and head bouncing: before long you're up dancing around your bedroom.

22 'Billo Rani' (Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal) Music By Pritam Chakraborty Performed By Anand Raaj Anand, Richa Sharma
Our reviewer Aly Kasaam: “Brilliant is all I have to say for the first track of the album. Titled Billo Rani, this track embodies a festive mood with unbelievable mass appeal. It's semi-qawwali with great beats that make for an extremely catchy listen. Kudos to Javed Akhtar for writing playful yet wonderfully crafted lyrics. It's nice to hear Anand Raj Anand after so long, but it's Richa Sharma who hogs the limelight and is absolutely outstanding!” What more is there to say?

21 'Ma' (Taare Zameen Par) Music By Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy Performed By Shankar Mahadevan
One of the most beautiful songs on our list: it tugs at your heartstrings. The lyrics are so moving and the song was tailor made for Mahadevan's voice. Once seen in the film, the song becomes even more emotional and you only love it more. A triumph.

no the top 5 is rightly put shaik...shankar ehsaan loy are more versatile and better than rahman....in guru 2 songs are hit in taare zameen par each and every song is a gem still ar rahman has got all the awards its all sheer cheating...dont u agree?they didn't even get a nomination for TZP

I totaly like your choices but the concentration seems to be in the lyrics in the top songs.i dont deny that lyrics are important but some songs have music which can make u spring to your feet.....would have loved to see JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM ranked in top five.......yep

Agree with the top5 completely. Very nicely put together Stace.

The list isn't solely based on 'hit songs' and I liked that, it seemed fair to me.

^it's not always about the music. believe it or not, lyrics play a fundamental role in the completion of the soundtrack. i agree with the number 1 and number 2 spots. beautifully written Stace! i cant think of a song with better lyrics than TZP for 07

its dissapointing to see some below par songs,in the top list .. taare zameen par, ,saawariyaa, alvida in top 5 .

all namastey london songs, are hit n only one song from it got a position .moreover, songs from aap ka surroor -movie,deserve lot better position.sad to see this song ,not even in top 25 "jhoot nahi bolna".

It is really sad to note that Tere Bina sung by ARR and Chinmayee is slotted to 2nd Position. whereas the Song featuring the Voice of Shanker Mahadevan in TZP is graded as No.1. Really, I strongly feel there is some lapses and lacunae on Justice?

shaik mahaboob
