Blender’s Pride Glamhunt is launching its own beauty contest in the north-east in an effort to find the next supermodel to follow in Monikangana Dutta’s footsteps. The final will be at the Shillong Club in Guwahati on February 19th. “The objective of the event is to search for and identify the right talent and create a platform where fresh faces can discover their potential in modelling with proper guidance and grooming under trained professionals,” said a spokesperson.

Amongst the judges for the event will be popular Assamese actress Nishita Goswami of National Award winning Dinabandhu fame and supermodel Indrani Dasgupta, who recently flaunted her style at the opening of the new Aza boutique in Delhi.

The contestants will be hoping to emulate leaders such as Monikangana and Dipannita Sharma who have succeeded in building careers from Assam in fashion and movies. Monikangana, in particular, is being predicted as one of the big new faces of 2010 with an appearance in Guzaarish with Hrithik Roshan - and Dipannita had a career that included movies such as Asambhav and My Brother Nikhil.
