Having completed her shooting stint for Raavana with Aishwarya Rai and Abshishek Bachchan, Priyamani is currently camped out in Mumbai, possibly hoping that more Bollywood offers may come her way. Meanwhile, work is continuing on the Kannada movie called Raam with Puneet Rajkumar. Best known for her stunning performance in Paruthi Veeran with Karthi, a film that ran in cinemas for over a year, she is also looking forward to Shambo Shiva Shambo with Ravi Teja.

Priyamani is a cousin of Bollywood star Vidya Balan but admits they are not often in contact. “We are first cousins! We don’t meet as often as our parents do,” she confirms, “I’m very proud that she’s family, and I wish her a great career.”

Known for her performances as sweet, troubled village girls, will we be seeing Priyamani in a glamour role? “Definitely no, every one should see that I have acted well and none must tell that I have mere glamour,” she says, “I need recognition as a good actor.”
