Having spent time with Katrina Kaif, Shah Rukh Khan and Bipasha Basu in Chicago for the Zee Independence Day Carnival over the weekend, Kareena Kapoor decided it was time she spent some quality time with her beau and has whisked him away to a secret location in the US to celebrate his 39th birthday and their anniversary.

Jet setting their way across the world to celebrate Independence Day in Houston, Texas, the jodi arrived in Chicago on Saturday evening where they joined Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif for a meet and greet event, which was followed by dinner.

The following morning, a professional commitment free Kareena and Saif took off to an unknown destination near Chicago to celebrate. Information on the grape vine is that they will be returning to Mumbai at the end of this week after celebrating two years of togetherness. Awww... how sweet!

Last year Kareena celebrated Saif's birthday by hosting a party in Mumbai with their close friends. And earlier on this year, Saif arranged a romantic getaway in Italy for her. Let's hope that Saif remembers that Kareena's birthday is also approaching (on September 21st) where a trip to Switzerland and diamond jewellery are listed as ideal presents on Kareena's wish list.
