Aamir Khan has unfortunately lost his child with wife Kiran Rao to a miscarriage, he admitted on his blog on Tuesday. Rao was said to be visiting the hospital regularly in the past and caused quite a scare in the Khan family. He went on to pen in his blog, "I have bad news folks. Kiran and I lost our baby. Despite our best efforts we were unable to avert a miscarriage. The last two months have been a struggle for us and that is one of the reasons I was absent from the blog in more ways than one. I need time to heal. I will be away for a while."

According to sources, Rao was three months pregnant and then lost her child. In the meantime, the director has been working hard on her upcoming release Dhobi Ghat. Aamir has been busy shooting for 3 Idiots and working closely with his wife on her upcoming production, in which he also stars. He is also said to have put a hold on his production Delhi Belly which is ready for release but will not be released until next year simply because he was not impressed with the way the film has shaped up. He has informed director Abhinay Deo that he would like to help with re-editing the film and will do so as soon as he wraps up 3 Idiots.
