Everyone knows that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a fabulous daughter-in-law and a thorough professional when it comes to her work. Her father is currently sick in bed and has been for a while now which has been bothering Rai as she is unable to spend much time with him because of prior work commitments. However, on papa Rai’s 70th birthday, the daughter was given some time off from the jungles of Cochin where she is currently shooting for Mani Ratnam’s next venture, to spend the big day with daddy dearest.

Mr. Rai was surprised when his daughter arrived at his ailing side and was able to celebrate his birthday with him. The celebration was kept small and intimate with just close families and the Bachchan’s minus Junior Bachchan who couldn’t take time off from work. However, he claims that he definitely tried and wanted to because Ash’s parents are not his in-laws but another set of parents which he is fortunate to have.
