Cinemas' Boycott of Yash Raj Films Avoided

The conflict between the major movie chains in India and Yash Raj Films has finally been worked out. Tashan which was scheduled to release on April 25th, but due to the battle had not been in theaters yet, was released in the theaters on May 3rd. Also, with this agreement the rest of the 2008 line up of the banner is no longer in jeopardy of not being shown.

Yash Raj has some big films set to release later this year including: the Saif-Rani Starrer Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Ranbir Kapoor in Bachna Ae Haseeno, the animated film Roadside Romeo and Aditya Chopra’s return to direction Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. If the disagreement had continued on, these films might not have released in India at all.

However, now the dust has settled and fans in India will get to see these highly anticipated films on the silver screen. A statement released by Yash Raj Films said, “An understanding has been reached between YRF and the multiplexes for the entire YRF slate of films for the year 2008. The terms agreed upon are to the mutual satisfaction of all concerned parties.”

Yash Raj should go bankrupt for what they have done with this good film. I have watched it in Multiplex with family and theater was almost full yesterday. They were the cause of this film not to do good at the box office. Trailors.
