Katrina Kaif wins Best British Indian Award
By Andrew Stephenson - BollySpice.com

Indian audiences can be a little unforgiving when faced with a British Hindi accent but this doesn't appear to be the case with Katrina Kaif, recent winner of the Best British Indian Award at the Zee Cine Awards at the Excel Arena in Docklands, London.

Katrina is the epitome of the new global citizen. Carrying a British passport, she was born in Hong Kong to parents of Kashmiri origin. She grew up in Hawaii before moving to London. The secret of her success, she claims, is sheer hard work. Known to favour 14-hour-days, she has appeared in Telugu, Malayalam and Bollywood movies and most recently in the superhit, Race.

Her first international hit was Namastey London, quickly followed by Apne, Partner, Welcome and the aforementioned Race. Her growing legions of fans are looking forward to seeing her soon in Singh is King and Yuvraj.

Receiving her award at the Zee Cine ceremony from British MP, Keith Vaz, Katrina said, “My family lives in London; my mom is British and my father is Indian but I have found my home in India. I wish all your dreams come true; as mine have!”

What importance this award holds. Would it be given every year to international stars appearing in Hindi cinema or just bcoz she had few hits. Its true that she is beautiful and innocent but acting wise she has to improve a lot.

This lady has matured from an awkward, tentative novice into a very beautiful and polished actress. She is quite glamorous. And no doubt she has determination and a strong stomache to endure love scenes with repulsive geek Akshay Kumar.

What crap...this award is a WASTE! I think she deserves the "Best Non-Actor" award.
