But Amrisha Yash chopra himself is better then Karan Johar, i just cant stand KJO films they are so melodramatic and OTT, his worst film is MNIK, have you seen it??
and i 100% agree with your 90's reputation comment.
Silsila, Kabhi Kabhi are lovely films. -

*RaNi*, on 05 March 2010 - 04:18 PM, said:ok, Yash Chopra is NOT abt the girls running arnd in sarees hiding behind trees ... i mean puhleeeeez Sahil
Sridevi in Chandni didnt give a strong performance??? It was one of the most memorable performances of her life!
Madhuri was just eye-candy in Dil to pagal hai?? She was aweeeesome!! Didnt she win the BEST actress awards that yr?
Rani gave a very powerful performance in Veer Zaara :) And will be remembered for that!!!
Kabhie kabhie, Silsila and Lamhe are some of the BEEEEEST movies ever made with some of the best performances given.
I dont think you've seen enough Yash Chopra films ... or maybe you're confusing yrf (pyar impossible, neal n nikki etc) with films directed by Yashji himself.
Exactly these movies comes in my mind when i hear YASH RAJ FILMS lol.
I confused the yash raj film with yash chopra as director himself. I agree Yash chopra as director made some good films in past. And I have seen all of them, see i always said to my fellow Ash fans that Aishwarya is a yash chopra kind of actress. But his last film veer zaara was just stupid. but that's just my opinion. :P
If someone want me to pick from yash chopra or KJO, i will choose Yash chopra. He will capture Ash beautifully.
I understand that some Ash fans wants to see Ash in glamour films where she wears beautiful cloths dance in Switzerland etc.... If yash chopra really can create his old magic then why not. :) -

My Movie Review: Ishqiya...One Time Watch!!
The opening scene of Ishqiya shows the sensuality of Vidya's character, the scene has been shot so beautifully and the background music makes the scene even more great. 'Ab mujhe koi intezaar kahan Woh jo behthe thhe…Abshaar kahan ! Perfect.
Ishqiya is a delightful movie why? simply because its witty, sensual, and the love triangle has been shown beautifully. The humour is in right place and the witty dialogues work fine. The famous love making scene between Vidya and Arshad does not seem forced and has been shot with good taste. But the most charming scenes of the film are between Krishna (Vidya Balan) and Khalujaan (Naseeruddin Shah) like the scene where Naseeruddin Shah watches Vidya when she is singing or a scene direct after that or take the powerful scene when both Krishna and Kahlujaan have the argument in car, its such scenes which makes this movie a good watch.
The movie is bit confusing and boring at certain places, the screenplay is dragging, and some scenes just comes from no where. The movie gets more interested story wise after the interval. If you are expecting this movie to be very entertaining then you will be highly disappointed. Its a rustic and realistic cinema which is hard to understand in certain places, but still make you interested to find out what going to happen in the end.
I love the music of the film, but I was disappointed with the way some songs has been shot I felt there was something missing. Special mention, Gulzar's lyrics are superb, its just so beautiful.
Ishqiya is not a perfect film, as I said the screenplay could have been much tighter. In all honesty the performances are strength of this film. The main lead gets into skin of their characters and performs brilliantly. Vidya Balan as Krishna is perfect, she gives a winning performance yet again after her acclaimed performance in Paa, she plays the sensuous, sexy rustic woman perfectly, I have to admit that women can look sexier in full clad sarees too, she is sensuous. Naseeruddin Shah is adorable he gives a very natural performance, he is so natural in film that you do not even once think of that you are watching Naseeruddin Shah he becomes Khalujaan from the very first scene to last. Arshad Warsi gets the role to prove himself as actor, honestly speaking I am not a big fan of his Munna Bhai series i found his humour and performances very forced there, but in this film he shows that he is capable of doing performance oriented films.
Overall the movie is good one time watch, the performances are fabulous, the music rocks, the direction is almost perfect, but the story is not up to mark, the screenplay is sloppy and dragging. Having said that, I will love to see more work from this new director Abhishek Chaubey.

& I will go mad if Ash sign such films, I want to see her in powerful film and in strong roles not in craps like this, she does not need to run around trees which most of YRF are about.
