So I really wanted to title this thread "The WTF's of Bollywood", but I guess that isn't the most appropriate title hehe.

Anyway, are there some trends, celebrities who are praised until no end, movies that become huge hits or are praised sky-high, people who become cult-status, etc. that you find puzzling and confusing (in the sense that you have NO idea how and why they are at the status they are!) ? & I don't mean just the celebrities and films, but trends, ideas, etc. as well.

Hope I am not too vague here haha. =/

I honestly don't see how so many girls find him to be the hottest thing alive. I'm not trying to say he's ugly, but he's definitely not drool-for-days worthy (IMO). I'd rather take a John or (old) Hrithik any day hehe. :tongue: Plus, his muscles are really scary. His chest looks weird, too. Even my friends don't find him to be hot heh. Anyway...

Katrina Kaif is prolly the biggest WTF in bollywood today :P That talented actors and directors actually praise her and believe that she's a 'fine' actress is a puzzle :blink: She's improving, yes, but she's by noooo means a fine or talented actress

Another thing I don't get is the trend of draping the saree like a ho would. The saree has a pallu for a reason hellooo!!

And also, that brainless comedies (SIK, Welcome etc) become such huge hits is something i dont get.

There are movies like Welcome, Golmal, Singh is Kinng that become huge hits at the box office and that always puzzles me. I have no idea how the heck people watch these...

It sucks that these mindless movies makes so much movies, but the majority of audiences don't really care. One of the simplest reasons why Golmaal, Singh Is Kingg, Welcome, and etc. becomes such big hits in India would be that people would just want to have good, stupid fun or escape from reality. It's a similar case in Hollywood where The Hangover, Transformers, Paul Blart: Mall Cop and the Wayan Brothers movies are all hits as well.
