I hope someone surprises and takes Best Actress.

I didnt expect Kareena to win in 2007 or Priyanka to win for 2008. So I hope another surprise comes for 2009.

^^I don't think it should be a 'surprise', per se.
If an actor or actress is appreciated by every critic, and by a mass audience, then he or she certainly deserves to be awarded at every great height. :) Granted, there are always multiple actors and actresses who are praised, but people do come to a point where they start to appreciate real talent. After all, if someone is not well-liked, then he or she would not repeatedly win awards, chosen both by critics and the general public. :D

However, I doubt that for EVERY single one[be it for magazine polls, award ceremonies, festival awards, etc.] there are 'politics' involved. :tongue:

Also, how is the word 'politics' defined in this case? It seems like a pretty loaded word which entails a whole lot of controversy, not to mention the "back-to-point A" answers. ;)

Well in all seriousness, Kareena's 3 Idiots is releasing in December. It's been confirmed. Also, she has a really good scope in Kurbaan, so she has a chance, too.

Even though it pains me to write this[ROFL], Kareena can handle serious roles. ;)

Bipasha? I don't remember the name of the film though... Something Kashmir? I saw the trailer, and I didn't see much scope for her there...albeit, the setting of the film can definitely provide her with some positives in terms of acting range. :)

And PC has a great chance for Best Actress! But it depends on how Qurbaan is ..
But who knows, there could be some surprises ... like maybe Harman will blow us all away in WYR ... LOL!
