K3G - Karan, Kajol, Kareena gang
Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Karan Johar team up after a gap of eight years
Karan Johar has done it again. After casting Kajol and Kareena Kapoor for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, way back in 2001, he’s got the two talented actresses again for his forthcoming venture. The film will be directed by debutante Siddharth Malhotra, who is production house Cinevistaa’s chairman Prem Kishen’s son and the grandson of the late Prem Nath. Siddharth was the creative producer of the hit TV serial Sanjivani and was responsible for conceptualising and shaping it.
Our source revealed, “Kajol and Kareena have been finalised for Karan Johar’s forthcoming film, which will start once the actors are free from their on-going films.”
The film, which is yet untitled is based on the Hollywood film, Stepmom (1998), starring Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts. The shooting of the film will begin as soon as Kajol wraps up the shoot of Karan’s My Name Is Khan, opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
So how did the casting come about? “Karan, who is directing Kajol in My Name Is Khan is very happy with her work. The same holds true for Kareena, who is working opposite Saif Ali Khan in a project directed by Rensil D’Silva,” said the source.
When queried about Kareena’s presence in Karan’s film, Kareena’s secretary maintained a diplomatic stand and said, “Kareena would never say no to Karan.”
About Stepmom...
Stepmom is about a divorced couple Jackie (Susan Sarandon) and Luke (Ed Harris) and their children Anna (Jena Malone and Ben (Liam Aiken). Isabel, a successful photographer is the new woman in Luke's life. Though she tries hard to please the kids, she also loves her work. Jackie, a full-time mother regards Isabelle's efforts as insufficient and cannot understand how her work can be as important as the kids. The film takes a turn when Jackie is diagnosed with cancer.

meh.. did Karan run out of his ideas??
I mean he can't always waste the great cast he always have
on something remade.. I mean those actors (esp. Kajol) can TOTALLY pull off any
original story..
my personal opinion.. :)

Kareena-Kajol give their nod to Karans Stepmom plans
Spicezee Bureau
Mumbai, April 28: Call them typical potboilers or sheer sloppy family dramas but KJos love for good life has often translated into onscreen opulence, creating some of the most magnificent visual treats. And the magic weavers love for grandness is not just limited to spectacular sets but also to bringing some of the most high-powered top guns together time and again.
After treating the cinema goers to the super hit jodi of Amitabh and Shah Rukh, the taskmaster is all geared up to bring Bollywood powerhouses- Kareena and Kajol together again.
The lissome beauties, who were last seen in Karans Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham, way back in 2001, have reportedly given a nod to star in his next venture that is touted to be a remake of Hollywood blockbuster Stepmom.
Confirming the news a daily quoted a source as saying, Kajol and Kareena have been finalised for Karan Johars forthcoming film, which will start once the actors are free from their on-going films.
Famous for casting his friends that include some of the top rank holders in Bollywood, KJo has never felt the need to look beyond his highflying circle. Same goes for this one, the multi-tasker was working with Kajol when the idea struck him.
Karan, who is directing Kajol in My Name Is Khan is very happy with her work. The same holds true for Kareena, who is working opposite Saif Ali Khan in a project directed by Rensil DSilva, said the source.
Heres hoping that the triple K comboKaran, Kajol and Kareena are able to create some charisma and not another drab of a film.

Patchwork
Karan Johar convinces two warring actors, John Abraham and Kareena Kapoor, to come together
Yesterday we told you that Karan Johar had cast Kajol and Kareena together after Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham eight years ago, for his remake of Chris Columbus’ Stepmom. Now Karan has convinced John to star opposite both, Kajol and Kareena. The interesting part is that this marks the end of the John-Kareena jhagda.
The cold war between Kareena Kapoor and John Abraham started when Kareena called John ‘expressionless’ on Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee with Karan, and John retorted that she was ‘over-expressive’. But all that seems to be a matter of the past. Kareena and John have now gone ahead and surprised many by signing a film. Ironically, the man on whose talk show this tu-tu-main-main transpired is instrumental in bringing the duo together.
John’s role was earlier offered to Saif Ali Khan, who declined it because apparently he didn’t think the audience would accept him as Kajol’s as well as Kareena’s husband. This is the second time Saif has refused Karan Johar. Earlier Saif turned down Dostana which also featured John.
According to a source, Dharma Productions were earlier toying with the idea of getting a senior actor like Anil Kapoor or Anupam Kher to play Kajol and Kareena’s husband. “Karan wants a young cast. He doesn’t want his version of Stepmom to be targeted at the older generation. With Kajol, Kareena and John in the picture this becomes a jazzy new-age version of Stepmom,” the source said.
