Because they think that it is 'unnatural' for a guy to like a guy. But my issue is personal, I am not saying their music is necessarily bad but I think of them as another Nickelback.

actually, that isn't true. i asked my friend, who's a huge fan of theirs, the other day about their band name, and she said they were interviewed a couple years ago when they were on warp tour, and they said the name came about when they all decided to start a band, but they couldn't think of a name; so they compiled a list of whatever they could think of and put it together. martin was just joking around one day, emailed the other three. the other three liked it because it was catchy and thought it would be a good temporary name for their first show in massachusetts. after that it just stuck because they couldn't think of anything else afterwards, and it's easy to remember. i don't think it's anything personal because the band has a gay best friend.

Let's see I have a wide variety of artists I like, and I listen to just about every different genre. Some of my favorite country/folk singers would be Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Reba McIntyre, and Bob Dylan. But I don't like more of the stereotypical country i.e. Toby Keith. In terms of hip-hop artists, I love Lupe Fiasco, Nas, Tupac, Rakim, and the Beastie Boys, so I guess stuff that is more spoken word oriented. But I listen mostly to rock music particularly punk and alternative artists so I love The Ramones, The Clash, Sleater-Kinney, Incubus, Nirvana, The Pixies, The Smiths, The Beatles, The Who, Queen, Joy Division, Nine Inch Nails, The Cardinals, The Postal Service, Rilo Kiley, and the list goes on. And in terms of just R&B music, I like Aaliyah, Ashanti, Jill Scott, Lauren Hill, Mary J. Blige, Marvin Gaye, En Vogue, Sam Cooke, The Temptations, James Brown, Floetry, Boys II Men, etc. Right now, what am I mostly listening to these days is: Beck, Radiohead, Damien Rice, My Morning Jacket, and The Strokes.
