Here's the official news from Karan Johar's office and as always, it's first on Bollywood Hungama.

After producing five films in the past decade, including the blockbusters KUCH KUCH HOTA HAIN, KABHI KHUSHI KABHIE GHAM, KAL HO NAA HO and KABHI ALVIDA NAA KEHNA, Karan Johar will be stepping out of his comfort zone and charting new territory.
Contemporary stories relevant to our times and targeted at entertaining the evolved cinegoer, debutante directors, CG animation, introduction of new talent [both on and off camera], Dharma Productions is thinking big and have plans to release three films a year from 2009.
Karan Johar will direct his fourth film [yet untitled], to go on floors from October '08. It will star Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The screenplay is by Shibani Bathija [KANK]. DOSTANA, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, will star Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra and Bobby Deol in a special role. The film is slated for release by the end of '08.
KOOTCHIE KOOTCHIE HOTA HAIN celebrates a decade of Karan Johar's directorial debut KUCH KUCH HOTA HAIN. KOOTCHIE KOOTCHIE will incorporate the latest innovations in computer graphics and promises to recreate the magic of the original film with the voice of the original cast - Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerjee.
The fourth film, yet untitled, will be directed by Rensil D'Silva and star Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and one more lead actor. This film will go on floors in October '08 too.

Vivek in Karan’s next
Author: Subhash K Jha Date: 14 Mar 2008
Joins Saif and Bebo in KJo’s film to be directed by Rensil D’Silva
New Addition: Vivek Oberoi
Rensil D’Silva, screenwriter for Rang De Basanti, is turning director for an untitled film to be produced by Karan Johar.
The film stars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. And now, Vivek Oberoi joins the cast of this romantic thriller.
Says the shy writer, “Strangely, these were the names on my wish list. And they all said yes. It was Karan Johar who had a germ of an idea. I developed it. He’s given me a free hand. Sometimes I get frightened by the trust he has placed in me.” Rensil’s film will be shot entirely in London.
From scratch
Rensil adds, “I’m enjoying the process of making the film from scratch. We start on October 15. We wrap up in March 2009.” Rensil has been directing commericals for the last ten years. Ask him if it’s too soon to direct a film, and he says “A feature film was a natural progression. The preparation for an ad and a feature are the same. I didn’t want to make a feature film until I was convinced of the subject. Such a short life! Might as well give it your best shot.”
I’m no copycat!
People have accused Rensil of copying RDB from various sources. “Someone said RDB was inspired by Jesus Of Montreal where the actor playing Jesus during the period of Lent suddenly imagines he’s Jesus. I hadn’t seen Jesus Of Montreal. RDB can always be traced to some Nigerian or Brazilian film. I’m not a DVD-copier at all. I’m very parti- cular about being original.”
Caught up
Interestingly, Rensil was also scripting Rakeysh Mehra’s second film Dilli 6. “But I don’t know how much of my writing will be retained. I did write it for a while. Then I bowed out and got caught up with other subjects.”

Too much Kareena and Saif for one month for me lol!
In other news.
I am glad to see Vivek score such a project. The guy is immensly talented and its shame his career got compromised due to all the damn contrevorsies.
at the end of the day I think , movies, cinema etc is an art. personal lives should stay out of it. whether its a director deciding on a cast based on the publicity they will get the movie or whether a director doesnt cast someone based on their publicity. (don't know if I am making any sense to anyone but me).
Hence why its great to see Vivek back on the horse (if I may say so I thought he missed out on many good projects due to personal reasons affecting his work life) he's on of the most promising youngsters and has great potential.
and Bebo and Saif fans dont think I am ignoring them lol! Their potential has already been realised so all is well for these two :D

Vivek comes between Saif & Kareena?

Finally, Saif and Kareena’s fans will get to see the golden couple together on the screen.
The film is Karan Johar’s next, but... there’s a new twist to it. Giving them company will be Bollywood’s new whipping boy Vivek Oberoi.
Anyway, love him or hate him, but you can’t ignore the Oberoi boy, maybe that’s why Karan has roped him along with Saif and Bebo to play the third important angle in the film. But Vivek bhai, why play kebab mein haddi between Saifoo and Bebo?
